The 44th President of the United States of America arrived in a difficult moment in our Country's history. The tone of his campaign and how he seemed to relate to the American youth, brought a sense of political revival around the younger demographic of voters. I, along with a great number of Americans, felt inspired by his message of Hope and Optimism, which motivated me to create this painting in honor of the Hope that was delivered in the midst of such a chaotic time in our Country. While our troops were heavily involved in two fronts and while our economy seemed to be in grave danger, we have held on to those encouraging words that reminded us only through Unwavering Faith and Resolute Actions in time we would enjoy the recovery and strengthening of our Great Nation. The splatter pattern in this painting seems random and chaotic, but when viewed from a distance it reveals the likeness of Barack Obama. This can be interpreted in many ways; However, I think of it as our capability to appreciate the positive outcome, after we have been through challenging situations in our life. Keeping in mind that regardless of the efficiency, popularity or eventual legacy that our President might enjoy, in time we can feel grateful that he inspired a generation to get involved and become active participants of democracy.
